Eighty years ago today Tuesday 16 December 1941
Up at 6:30 a.m. Arrived in Delhi and ordered men to detrain. Had busy time with baggage etc., but arrived at Khyber lines. Cooks took wrong route, but eventually the men had a meal at 6:00 p.m. Had a meal at the Station Mess and was it welcome after the meagre rations of the past days. Went out to city with Major Hamid, Holland, Bayliss, Doc and Conker. Had a drink and dinner at Davico’s. Had a look at the cabaret and dance. Home by 1:00 a.m.
