Started off at 8:30 a.m. for the Cross-Country Drive. Drove down the winding road through Havelian and then across the course. What a course; I can’t understand how the lorry stayed upright. Down into riverbeds, up banks and through narrow gaps. I enjoyed it. Stopped at 1:00 p.m. for lunch, then drove back and got back about 3:30 p.m. after about 90 miles. Not bad after 8 hours driving. Blinking blackout in connection with NW Air Defence Scheme.
