Had luggage weighed, paid up bills and after the usual exasperating troubles got on the train. Off on another phase of life, a journey of almost 2,000 miles. Soon unrolled bedding and retired for the night while the Frontier Mail rolled on its way. Had chota hazri at about 7:00 a.m. and got up after a rotten night. Country now more fertile, flat, but green; miles and miles of rolling country almost changeless. With the other three posted to Mhow on the train not my type, did little in the train but read, sleep and talk. Some of the places seem quite interesting. Meals in train quite expensive.
