Eighty years ago today Thursday 31 July 1941
Didn’t sleep to well – ground hard and mosquitoes very troublesome. Up at 5:30 and after breakfast started a new scheme which lasted until 2:30 p.m. Lunch followed and at 4:30 p.m. off again on a night scheme which lasted until 7:30 a.m. next morning. It rained a little and was very cold in the early hours of the morning. It was a weary party which marched back to camp. We had a good breakfast.
