A day to remember. Got up and put on civilian kit; didn’t feel comfortable, it seemed very strange. Caught taxi with Dean and arrived majestically at the station. Took ticket, bit of a shock INR33. Well, off we go on our journey and it was rather tiring. Second Class coaches were very comfortable, but food was rotten and difficult to obtain. Once again, spent the night on a bunk, but had to change at Trichinopoly [now Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu] at 3:00 a.m.
